#1 I just tired using MJ on an old computer I use as a server (hence always on). It only has USB 1.0 ports. MJ seems to work but the person calling me is garbled (cuts in an out) They say I sound fine. I switched back to another computer with USB 2.0 ports and it seems to work. Could the USB 1.0 ports be the reason for the garbled calls?
#2 this is mildly irritating but I'll ask in case anyone else knows of some way to do something about it. I hear a delayed, soft echo of everything I say when talking to someone using MJ. That is when I finish saying something I hear the last 2 words I said repeat softly as the other person starts talking. Are their any tips on optimizing the compression it uses or anything I can play with to improve call quality?
Thanks |

Try using a powered usb hub. I have read many threads on here and this seems to solve a lot of problems. Also give mj a high priority in your task manager. |

you might also adjust your audio volume levels in the MJ menu. I found if they are too high I get echos. make small adjustments until you get a balance between volume and quailty. |

I'm going to try the powered USB hub. Actually I was using a usb hub on the PC that worked good and the PC I had problems with I was plugging it in with a usb extension cable to the back of the pc. So maybe it will help.
I'll try the volume too. I didn't know you could adjust the volume. I had to search for that. I use a phone and not a headset on the pc but I guess that is the same place to set it. I guess it the mic volume that needs lowering? Oh well I play with it. |
