The good news: didn't have choppy audio or echoes. The only reason I guess for no audio problems is because I couldn't make or receive very many calls.
The bad news: tried to make eight calls and was successful on two. Over a dozen phone calls were made to me and just two were successful. Of those two, the people had to try at least three times.
Dial a number and it rings one time and then nothing, over and over again.
Someone calls and the call cannot be completed.
MJ continues to decline.
Tried all the usual fixes and they didn't work either.
Any ideas.

Of the people who called you, what did they hear? Did they reach your voice mail immediately instead of ringing you? Did they hear nothing at all? Did they hear 5 or 6 rings before getting your voice mail?

It's kind of hard to give any specific advice when we don't know the symptoms.

The call rang for them but did not connect or they heared "the call could not be completed as dialed". The phone rang for me and when I answered there was no audio, it didn't go to dial tone.
All of this again happened tonight.
It did not go to voice mail.

OK, we're making progress. The fact that people can call you indicates that the piece of the puzzle between MJ's servers and the outside world are working. The problem, then, is apparently located inside MJ's servers (unlikely), inside your PC (slightly more likely), or somewhere in the public internet between you and the MJ proxy server you are homed to.

I recommend that you look for one of the threads that talks about how to block access to troublesome proxy servers, so that you can try out diffferent proxy servers in order to find one that is less congested internally or easier for your ISP to navigate to than the one that is physically closest to your assigned telephone number.

Good luck.

I appreciate your guidance.
Not everyone who called could get through. Many heard my phone ring, and it did, but it never connected with me. They never heard me answer/ When I answered no one was there. They would redial and redial and the same thing continued to happen. In exaperation I forwarded my calls to my cell and the problems continued.
My question is how can a business be successful if a customer has to jump through all these hoops, change proxies, go thin etc, just to make MJ work. The average person will just say, "You know, I thought this was too good to be true." Thye will be happy they only lost $40 and then throw MJ away".

You know what? That's exactly my attitude. I consider MJ a wager. I can afford to bet $40 that I will extract $40 worth of service before it dies. I have been doing VoIP over public internet for over 8 years and VoIP over dedicated services for over 20. MJ is hands down the cheapest service I have ever played with, so if I get more than 2000 minutes out of an MJ this year I will be happy and if I get more than 2000 minutes out of the MJ next year on renewal I will be thrilled.
