|
|
It has never happened to me before, but over the last 2 months I have managed to break the USB connectors of the new MJs that I bought.
My laptops do not work with the MJ supplied cable so I plug them in directly.
After the recent goofups I bought some powered hubs and am having dropped calls.
I have a few expired MJs and wanted to know if I could use these expired ones by *somehow* activating those expired MJ using serials of new ones that have their USB connectors lopped off? |

Hello jongasse,
No, you cannot activate an expired MJ with your new MJ number. However, you can buy a new MJ and have your old number transfered to the new one. Just log on to their support chat, and tell them that you want your number ported over to the new device. Note: do not plug in the new MJ before chatting with support.
Hope this helps.

I think there is a MJ rebuild tool that allows you to do that it is frowned upon as it can be used for illegal purposes. |

Thanks Ernie for your reply.
I recall there was a menu on mymagicjack that listed the serial number linked with the current device?
Never tried it - but does anyone know if you could change that?
Also - I see that experts like you see that there are possible illegal usecases (I can't think of any though) - but does not the fact that I can access mymagicjack imply that I indeed am the legal user? |
