What does the "record a temporary greeting" voicemail option?
There are 4 voicemail options.
1. Change your unavailable message
2. Change your busy message
3. Record your name
4. Record a temporary greeting
I guess 1 is played after a number of rings and 2 is played if you're on the line and someone else calls. What does 3 & 4 do? If you record 3, does it undo 1 & 2. What about 4?
This should be a case study in confusing design. |

Sounds like a half decent idea to me.
If you're gonna be away for a few hours or a few days and want your callers to be aware of it and perhaps still contact you, this would accomodate such a situation.
Temporary 'away' message.
Cool. |

Not a bad theory. If only it were documented somewhere. |

Greetings,
If you want documentation . . . I would suggest you find another product. MagicJack is not a great product for documentation. All the info you should need will be on these forums.
As for the temporary greeting . . . yes it is just that. A temp message for trips, changes in schedule, etc.
Sincerely,
Barada Nels |

I am fairly sure the record your name is for the standard voicemail. I.E.: "You have reached (record your name here). We are unable to come to the phone, but leave your name and number and we will get back with you."
I cannot confirm this because I have always used my own message. But, I cannot think of anything else it could be for. |

|
|
Basically when some one calls your number ,,it will go over to voice mail after a certain number of rings. If you have a regular message it will play that one ,,if you are on the line and it goes to voice mail it will play the busy message you left . If you select to record a TEMPORARY message by using option 4 in the voice mail options menu,,then it will play that one until you delete it. So for example say you want to record a vacation away message and keep you everyday message,,just select 4 from the voice mail options and record it. It will play that message until you come back and delete it. Your everyday message will not be changed and will start again after you delete the temporary message. Hope that helps I had to learn this by trail and error but it was not that hard. Enjoy ! |
