You need to find the file named AddressBook.xml It should be in the drive letter that says MagicJack. |

hey guys, I have searched my computer for both files and in hidden folders as well, no such files found
CallLogs.clm, not even .clm, where can I find them?
I want to be able to get a call record, like most of the phone services offer.
Guess I can manually log them, but be nicer to just pull the log.
Like people are saying the icons for MJ briefly show when MJ loads then disappear , are they all on their server now?, if so should be a way to retrieve them, you would think. |

Those files don't exist locally any more since the last update. As far as I know, there's no way to retrieve them either. Just another one of MJ's newest "features". |

Isnt that a stupid idea?, I need to make a hard copy of calls and I used to get them, but now things have changed, most voip phones have an "online" call log, why was it that they took this away, I know the clm files were a pain but at least I had something to work with.
Now wish I had known before I bought more MJ's.
If they want to add a feature, add a call log you can view and print

The reason they did, I believe, is many people complained of losing their calling info AFTER they formated their MJ's ( as they were told to do so by MJ "support"). They were not aware enough to back that info up prior to formatting their MJ's. So I guess MJ got tired of all the online chats of people complaining they lost all that info. So by keeping it on MJ servers that problem is now gone. Again this is only a guess on my part. Personally I would rather have MY info on MY PC not theirs!!

Shouldn't we be able to request it then?
I need to track calls and I can write by hand but it looks like a made up call info, I try contact MJ support and request a log but never replied...

One would think so yes, since they are OUR contact lists.. Would be a nice option if they gave us a link to D/l OUR contact lists, eh?

I'll post another request over at MJ, maybe if a few others would do it too, they would not just ignore it..? |

had a thought, why cant we come up with a 3rd party application to monitor MJ and log the calls, time date duration.....
I'm Google-ing now to see, maybe some one here has an idea, I mean, we can record the voice calls, why not just a smaller version to log the calls in a text file? |

I think I remember reading that the same company who makes MagicFeatures is doing exactly that. An app to make OUR contacts available to us.
Try sending a PM to Red Pepper and verify..

Longer than the statute of limitations for wire fraud.
Longer than it takes for a divorce to be adjudicated.
Longer than you probably want.
Other than that, I can't say. |

Magicvibe,
At the risk of overstating the obvious. MyMagicjack.com allows the user to export their call logs.

Too bad you can't import it back in. The exported file is useless. |

Not if you want to save or make a hard copy of your call logs. I may be wrong but I think that's what the OP was after.

Greetings,
I use Cain & Abel http://www.oxid.it/cain.html to record just about any VOIP calls. It has a small footprint and is a great password recovery tool and networking utilities program.
I couldn't recommend it enough.
Sincerely,
Barada Nels |
