with the MJ?

I know it isnt as small and "efficient" as the Thin Client and some of the others being tossed around but, they can also be had much, much cheaper than either of these other computers. I just happened to have one and I do have it up and running with the MJ right now. It originally came with N/T but, I installed a new copy of XP Pro and a 120GB hdd and so far, it is running ok.

I originally setup my MJ on my main desktop which is a monster AMD X2 6000+, 850W supply and several arrays of hdds. Until the last update or whatever the hell happened, it ran ok on that machine. After I started having issues, no service at all, unable to use the spoofer..error 3...error 400, I decided I needed to get it working and do something different.

IMO, the Optiplex running 24/7 HAS to be more economical than running my main desktop 24/7. I did not upgrade XP Pro to service pack 3 and so far, it is running well. I do have it near an AC duct in my office. It is a PIII and seems to run a tad warmer than I like. Not as warm as my 850W system but, a little cool air near that system surely cannot hurt.

Any opinions on this? Am I any better of or am I only thinking I am better off? I do have another monitor and keyboard hooked to it right now but, I intend on setting it up to service/check remotely on another system.

I know it is not as nice and compact as the TCs but, it seems to work for me. Just wondering what the PTB think of this versus the TC I do not have or my other system which I do have but, its way too much computer to be running 24/7 just to keep the MJ up. I also tend to lean towards keeping my desktops running all the time instead of on and off all day so, Im sorta going against my OWN beliefs by doing this.

Hey, works for me quite well and can be had right now much, much cheaper than any of the other systems being tossed around here.

Just thought Id get some opinons and possibly suggest some alternatives to those who cannot get the TC.

Hope it helps and cannot wait to see what others have to say.

Now if I can just figure out why this damn device is up one minute, down the next and how I can get the spoofer back up and running. Im TRYING to like AND keep this device but, just as soon as I think I have it figured out, they roll out something different and down she goes.
