Dear MJ Support Forum,

Before you flame me please read the entire post! I have two magicjack usb dongles. One that is mine and one that someone gave me when they decided not to continue the service. I wasn't using it for a while and picked one at random plugged it in and logged in to renew. Everything went fine.

My question is can I use two magic jacks with the same number? I will pay for this addition feature if it is available. I don't want to hack or anything. I just would like to have the same number. If not I will just pay for the additional line and use Google Voice to have it call both numbers at the same time. I use the GV number more anyway.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

For technical reasons, it's not possible to have two magicJacks with the same phone number.

But why do you need two magicJacks with the same number? Are you just wanting to have two phones with the same phone number? If that's the case, then you could buy a cordless phone with two extensions. Or you could wire your house so that the magicJack is driving all your phone jacks. (That one is a bit trickier to do but it IS possible)

Thanks for the quick response. The reason I would like that is I have a small business with multiple sites. I will just pay for 2 lines and use Google Voice. I figured it wasn't possible, but I was trying to save a little. I just started my business and I don't want to go too far in the red. I don't want to get a business loan unless I have to.

Just keep in mind that MJ isn't 100%. Im sure most people can tell you that they have had their share of downtime or sub-standard service. Not something I would trust to run a business on.

Mostly mine works fine, just the odd time here & there... I'd hate to miss an important call from a paying client...
