Standard USPS delivery got the MJ to me in a small town in four days.
Was given USPS tracking number so I could follow it en route. Plugged
it into an xp pc, followed the GUIs, and rebooted. Up and running in
about ten minutes with a very useful local phone number and E911.
TIP: Powering up with MJ plugged in resulted in a bios Boot Error.
Solution: Went into BIOS and disabled USB Boot. Didn't want to
be plugging and unplugging on each Restart.
Question: The voicemail sends a copy of each message as a .WAV
file to my email account. When I play these .WAVs, with Windows
Media Player, there's a lot of echo, like the caller is 'in a well'. Have
you noticed this and is there a workaround/fix to kill the echo? What
causes this sound artifact? When I retrieve the VM messages via
a MJ handset or cell phone, they sound just fine.
Initial Impression: The MJ works great sending and receiving with
a phone plugged into the MJ. Install was a breeze. Voicemail has
all the features I need. Caller ID works sending and receiving.
Voice quality is as good as my retired land line.
Works great, less filling! With MJ, I'm my own POTS.
Take that, son of Ma Bell who became Godzilla. |
