I think we'll probably need more information. I, at least, have never heard of this error.
Welcome to the site. Hope we can get you all fixed up. |

I don't know what you are trying to do but "The Great Karnack" has experienced that error "Broken Storage" (obviously written by an outsourced programmer) really means you are trying to put something on your ATA Flash dive and there is not enough room on the drive to hold it.
So instead of saying the drive you are attempting to write to is full they claim it is broken.
Now if you tell us what the question is inside the hermetically sealed envelope that has been guarded by the Brinks Security Agency we can probably be a little more helpful. |

I got the broken storage message two days ago, tried lots of the usual fixes. Nothing. Put it on my laptop, get the message "plug Magicjack into the usb" which it is.
Others have suggested going into my computer, admin tasks, and reformatting the drive, but on both my systems that option is greyed out. Any ideas? |

1. What machine is giving you the broken memory error?
2. How much memory does it have and how much is free memory?
3. Here is a possible fix for "Plug in your MJ" problem: http://www.phoneservicesupport.com/warning-you-must-plug-magicjack-into-usb-t3208.html
4. Broken memory has nothing to do with your MJ it is a Thin Client Error Message. I don't believe any other machine reports that error, in those words.
OK your turn? |

Try this and see if it fixes your magicJack. When you install magicJack it installs in 2 drives. For example mine is in magicJack (E and (F . You cannot reformat magicJack (E , but you can format (F and that should fix your broken storage. Right click on My Computer, scroll down and click Manage, click on Disk Management. Go to the drive letter that when you click on properties it reads Type: Removable Disk - This is the drive you want to format and it should not be greyed out.

When you put the magicJack dongle in the USB port do you have the blue light the the device? If there is no blue light then there is a problem with your magicJack device. If you do have the blue light have you tried putting your magicJack device in another USB port on your computer? Right click My Computer, scroll down to Properties, click on Hardware, click on Device Manager. Is there any question marks or exclamation point next to any devices or especially in the Universal Serial Bus Controllers?

-Have the blue light
-Tried every usb port
-Tried with and without dongle (w/o dongle, I get the "unrecognized usb device" from windows pnp)
-The only conflict showing up in device manager is for SM bus controller
-All USB controllers are ok

Your previous message (I have only one storage showing up now and I can format it but afterwords I still get the same broken storage message.) There should be 2 storage devices showing up for magicJack. In Disk Management I have magicJack (E) File System CDFS and (F) File System FAT. Are you missing under Volume magicJack (Drive Letter)? Try reinstalling magicJack.
