|
|
Hi, I'm buying a Neoware CA15 configured 4Gb/256mb. Question: I am suspicious that the max RAM that can be installed on a CA15 is 256Mb, and that I won't be able to upgrade to 512Mb (online specs seem to suggest this). If that is so, can't I simply allocate a portion of the 4Gb microdrive HDD installed on the TC as virtual memory?
I'd sure like not to have to buy any more RAM if I don't have to.
Thanks much. |

Once again, this sure sounds like my TC you purchased. If so, then the Pagefile has already been enabled. Also, 512MB does work on the CA15 , but the VIA chipset is very picky. It must be low density or it will only register 256. I'll try to find a part number for a 512 stick that should work and get back to you. Thanks...

OK, I just cracked open the case of one I have listed with a 512 stick and the Samsung P/N is M470L6524BT0-CB3 and the specs are 512MB DDR PC2700 CL2.5...hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks.

Thanks much... Any idea on the thought I had on using virtual memory rather than buying more RAM? |

Like I said, Pagefile (virtual memory) is already enabled. You could increase it's size, but mJ is rock solid as-is, so there is really no reason to bump your memory or pagefile size. |

Oh, now I understand. I must be out of the tech-loop; didn't realize what you'd meant by "Pagefile." Guess I can relax, then, and just enjoy my Magic Jack.
Appreciate the info. As I said, I'm looking forward to receiving the TC. |
