Got a MagicJack on 01/22/10 it worked perfectly for a few days, and now (01/25/10) everytime I try to make a call it disconnects my computer from the internet.

When phone is disconnected and I dial from the computer, it works fine.

Are there any fixes, or do I need to try a different phone? Seems kind of odd that it worked fine for a few days, and now all of a sudden it does this.

I am using a Uniden EXI-2246 2.4 GHz Analog Cordless Phone.

Thanks for any help.

Just a shot in the dark here, is your router wireless?? IF SO your 2.4 phone is most likely the culpret. Maybe using a different channel on the router COULD help. Best would be to try a different cordless phone, 5.8 ghz or better.

I had the same problem using a cordless phone. Switched to a corded phone and haven't had any more problems.

I had a feeling since your wireless router uses the same freq. as your 2.4 phone.
Glad it all worked out for you.

I'm not running MJ via wireless, but the cordless phone I was using would knock the other machines using wireless off the air. Easy fix: I changed the wireless router settings so that it was fixed on channel 11 rather than "auto." The problem went away. Your mileage may vary wrt the selection of the non-interfering channel.
