I have noticed that my MJ gets hot after being connected for more than 3 hours to my desktop, this makes me wonder if there is any potential damage to MJ if I leave on 24/7 to any PC?

I haven't noticed my MJs getting hot. I have two that are on 24/7 (and have been for at least a year).

I have a non-contact temperature sensor, my MJ is on 24 hrs/day and it's barely perceptibly warm. Surface and temp of the innards is just under 30C. There will be some warmth to the unit but nothing approaching "hot". Could the heat on your MJ be coming from a fan or other source?
