I would like to run magicFix to see if everything is OK, but can't find it. Anywhere I find it referenced or a link, (control panel, my.magicjack, etc.), the link just takes me to the MJ home page. Any help would be appreciated.

Tried it...got a "MagicFix is not supported on your computer at this time" message. Just a common Acer laptop with Windows XP up to date. Maybe it is just running too good!

I just tried it and it worked fine.

Make sure you have the latest version of Java.

astro46,

I am not sure about XP but on Vista to get MagicFix to work correctly I had to turn off IE-7's protected mode and put the MagicFix in my trusted sites.

It is a fairly aggressive Java application and a lot of normal (default) security doesn't like it. You might even try turning off you firewall and anti-virus programs if putting it your trusted sites doesn't fix it.

i am using firefox, not ie. it is supposed to warm if a site is trying to do something that it doesn't like, nevertheless i tried adding magicjack.com to all exception lists. didn't seem to help.

i also lowered the firewall setting to 'allow all network activity'. again, no help.

i won't turn off the firewall or antivirus, since connecting 2 computers to the internet for 10 minutes, one time, infected both of them.

thanks for the suggestion, though.

having a more informative magicfix page would be a step in the right direction.

Pretty much the same for me. I use Firefox on the computer and Java was updated a few days ago. Still doesn't work.

I get the "MagicFix is not supported on your computer at this time" message if I use FireFox. If I use IE, it runs fine. Sun says I have the latest version of Java. This is on the laptop where I run my MJ.
Go figure!
