|
|
Has anyone had any issues with MagicJack blacklisting any MAC addresses or specific devices?
I have a Linksys PAP2 that I have been using with the service for 6+ months. I have had to plug up the USB jack and retrieve the new password two other times as the password would change.
About a week and a half ago I lost service on the ATA and even after putting in the new password the ATA says "Can't connect to login server".
I have reset the ATA to defaults. And reconfigured as before. I have other SIP accounts with other providers and no issues.
I am using the ATA behind DD-WRT firewall with SIP routing.
I've tried so many things and cannot figure this one out.
I notice that people are using an agent name which I was not in the past. That is why I'm thinking they may have blocked it somehow?!?
I have tried adding this to the User Agent "MagicJack/1.80.466c (SJ Labs)"
The proxy I use is
proxy01.tampa.talk4free.com:5070
I have tried other proxy locations as well and I am able to resolve the IP and I am able to ping all locations but no registration.
I have been using MJ Suite (currently v1.6) to get SIP information and pmdump in the past. Do you think the password is being dumped at a different location to trick this software?? I also notice that it takes MJ Suite multiple tries to retrieve the SIP info. I guess this is due to MJ removing the registration info from the memory after login.
Thanks ahead of time for any ideas....
I may try a softphone or my other ATA tonight if I get a chance to verify the login information. |

"Can't connect to login server" often indicates that your STUN service isn't working properly. I have noticed recently that FWD's STUN server, which I have been using and recommending for years, has apparently become flaky. I have changed my devices to use stun.ekiga.net:3478, with good results. |

Well I have tested the login using my other ATA and no go.
I then tried X-Lite and it worked just fine. Must be somthing to do with my DD-WRT Milkfish SIP proxy.
I am not using a STUN server as I was using a SIP proxy.
I tried STUN but for some reason I am not getting any response back to my PAP2. Messages and Bytes sent but nothing recieved. Can't get any of my SIP providers to work. |

I would recommend disabling the milkfish SIP proxy. I haven't heard anyone give a successful report, including myself. |

Well I figured out why the STUN server was not working. I didn't have a DNS set. So I wasn't resolving the address.
Everything is working good now.
Thanks. Guess Milkfish was sending somthing they didn't like. Strange it worked for 6 months. |

I am in the same exact position. my ATA says Registration State: Can't connect to login server. I cannot seem to find my DD-WRT Milkfish SIP proxy in order to disable it if that is what is causing the ATA not to work. where can I find Milkfish SIP Proxy my DD-WRT router.
router info:
Netgear WNR834B v2
Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (10/10/09) mini
Thanks in advance |
