Hello,

I live in an Apt. I get my internet from WiFi through the Apt. Complex supplied by the landlord.......

So I do not have a router or modum that I use in my apt. for the internet.

How do I use the Magic Jack Plus without either of these...???

Then you need to plug in the MJ Plus into your PC's USB port and have said PC powered on and running when you wish to make or get calls using the MJ.
That being said, since it is a shared WiFi, depending on how many people are using it ( uploads, downloads, etc... ) at the same time will determine the quality of your calls. I would not get my hopes up for it to work well, but hey one never knows

Assuming you have good enough bandwidth through WiFi, you could also get a used or refurbished router with DD-WRT software flashed to it. Set it up as a Repeater Bridge (or Client Bridge). This will get you 3 additional Ethernet ports, which can be useful for other wired devices.

It is not too hard, and a good learning experience.

Keith, who bought 2 Cisco Linksys routers for this, for $20-$25 each...

BUT, as I mentioned above, if everyone and his brother is using the WiFi at the same time getting his own router ( flashed with DD-WRT or not) won't mean squat if Little Timmy next door and all his friends are downloading next weeks DVD sales from a Bit-Torrent site. Sure they might be times where bandwith usage is low, but not often...
