|
|
Through searching these forums, I've discovered an excellent script for eliminating the need to dial the area code for local calls while using MJ. I've installed the script on my TC (Neoware C15, 4Gb/256, XPe Sp2). The script actually runs just fine...as long as I am there every day to access the .exe file via Teamviewer to run it. (I have an automatic reboot scheduled every day to clear out MJ).
I have a Scheduled Task set up to automatically run the script. The script is apparently run (shows it ran in the log), but if it really does run, it only does so for a brief moment, then quits. Still need to dial the area code. But, as I said, if I manually run it (double click the script icon)...it works fine, and I'm in 7-digit phone number heaven, at least locally.
So...I have a great script which, for some reason, won't run when it's being activated by the task scheduler. It's gotta be a manual double-click.
Any ideas on why this might not be working correctly?
Thanks for your time and thoughts... |

Make sure the path as well as "Start in" are correct or it will show that the schedule ran but won't actually launch the script. |

The Path and Start In were correct. It was your other post on how to set up a Scheduled Task without a PW that gave me the clue on what to do: I had the script beginning at logon (after the reboot you'd scheduled for 4 a.m.), meaning that the script would be trying to run before MJ had a chance to go through its lengthy start sequence. Killed the script. So I scheduled the script to run at 4:30, and also implemented the Scheduled Tasks instructions you'd outlined on correctly setting up the task. Now it's running perfectly.
Thanks again for the help, Alpman. If I were anywhere near Angels Camp (did I remember that right?), I'd buy you a beer.
