Microsoft Live Search gives you a 25% rebate on BuyitNow items, so you could get an ooma pretty cheap on ebay...you'll need to jump thru some hoops to get this though, so research it in the Fatwallet forums for more details.

Now I don't usually contribute to all the political forwards, because I think alot of them are way out there, and just plain wrong. Obama is not a terrorist, he's not a Muslim, and he most likely is an American citizen. Update: This one I just received says he's a Marxist. Probably not.

Instead, I ...

I agree with the location of this thread, the mods should move it...it's just another Ooma thread started by sligg (or alias).

You make valid points, anything could happen. I'd like Ooma to be a long term solution for me, but I'm willing to accept that the business model may not work, or they may ...

I have a suggestion...get an Ooma, it is the best "modification" you can do to make your calls clearer. Of all the things that I have tried over the past year to make MJ perform, this one is it!

Ooma is a gamble that I also took, unit is set to be delivered tomorrow (buydotcom $230). I will be keeping my magicjack (prepaid another year), but I just don't have time anymore to figure it out, chat with tech support, set up a thin client, etc., and the wife is embarassed to use it. Yes, the ...

Re: New Replacement

Buydotcom has the ooma for $230 shipped...looking forward to sharing my experience.

I'm a long term MJ user and my experience with MJ has been marginal with the usual problems that many of us have gone through.

I just installed a new replacement and the call quality is the worst of all the MJ's ...

make sure you're forwarding the following ports on the router to the computer you are running MagicJack on.

UDP & TCP 5070-070, 80 and 443

OK, so I want to try this, but it seems confusing. What does 5070-070 mean?

When I log into my router firewall options, I see selections for TCP and UDP ...

High priority on a hardwire, with a linksys booster (similiar to Hawking).

The proxy server and network protocols are new to me. I'll try a search to find info on these. Thanks

It should work fine on Vista

Is XP or Vista better for MJ?

I guess I'm curious about all the folks that can get their MJ to work...is XP the way to go? My wife has had it with our MJ, so I'm desperately looking for a solution. One bonus is my mother-in-law never wants to call cause it sucks so bad.

I think I've tried everything but XP (currently tried on ...

I've tried quit a few phones, and none fixed the call quality issues I've had with MJ. I have 3 different Unidens, an old 900mhz, a 2.4, and a DECT. I tried the Panasonic DECT, but returned it when I determined call quality wasn't any better and wanted to get my $70 back. I also have a 900mhz GE ...

Question...my MJ number shows different on CID

Sometimes when my wife calls me at work (using MJ), I see a totally different number show on my CID...it's not my MJ number. Anyone else notice this with their number?
