I currently have a MagicJack and bought another from a friend because I liked the phone number assigned to his MagicJack. When I log on the account via my.magicjack.com is does not give an option to change the owner's name. I contacted customer support and was told that there is no way to change the ...

I have never been able to get *67 to work for me. I would love it if the feature would work. If anyone has more information, please post it.

I have a similar issue as you. I currently use Vonage (2 lines on a 4 line phone) and all 12 phones ring without a problem. However, my magicJack (line 3) will only ring about 8 of the 12 phones (RCA 25414RE3). Not really a big deal since there are 8 phones ringing, you can still hear the phones ...

I am not using a thin client. I was about to order one from eBay for about $100 until I read this thread:

Apparently the thin client route takes a lot of maintenance, not really what I had in ...

I checked my phone specs (RCA 25414 model) and it says the REN is 0.0B, that may explain why I can have 12 phones running without any problems. If your phone REN is 1.4, then I am sure that is the problem. Hope this helps.

I agree, without number porting I am unable to use my magicJack as much as I would like. I would not mind paying a fee to port my number, it seems that magicJack could generate some revenue charging to port numbers. I don't think there would be a shortage of requests. Just my 2 cents.

no output audio devices found

I thought I would post this here to hopefully save some other people time and aggravation. My magicJack has been working fine until this morning. I restarted the magicJack using RDC (remote desktop client) from my laptop. The magicJack is running on a box in my basement and I was too lazy to walk ...

Last 4 Digits of Phone Number

Has anyone figured out a way to get a good easy to remember phone number including the last four digits? I have spoken with the online chat people, but they claim they have no way of selecting the last four digits of the phone number. Anyone got a suggestion?

Temporary Porting Suggestions - Help!

I am sold on magicJack, however I do not want to give up my current local number with Vonage. Since I cannot port to magicJack yet, does anyone have a suggestion for temporary porting? I am looking for a cheap service where I could port my number until magicJack allows porting. If the service would ...

I couldn't agree with you any more, the screens clearly told me that I would be charged right away if I selected certain options during the order process. Unlike you, I did opt for the upgraded shipping (ordered Sunday, received Tuesday) and was completely aware that I would be charged right away ...

I believe the trick may be that all of my phones are self-powered (plug into ac outlet), therefore no power is drawn from the phone line. I have 12 phones plugged in throughout the house without any problems, again they're all self powered.

If you do a search on this board for SIP information you will see there are a lot of other people who would like to get that information as well. I think that appears to be the general consensus. To get the best quality phone call everytime, use a dedicated box to run the magicJack. I just pulled an old laptop out of the closet to run my magicJack and it appears to work without any issues.

Lisa,

Being new to magicJack (two weeks), I am so glad that I read your posts. Although I have been using Vonage since 2004 without any complaints, I was skeptical of a VoIP service that costs $20 per year. I have found your posts to be very informative and extremely well written.

I have been ...

Just Received magicJack / Whole House Wiring

I just received my MagicJack and plugged into my house telephone wiring, just like I had prviously used Vonage, and it works fine supplying dial tone throughout the house. I had read that it might be possible and it was important to me to have the dial tone throughout my home just like a landline ...
