WinSCP - Its just an FTP / SFTP / SSH client which is a free thing https://winscp.net/eng/index.php It also my chosen file explorer when looking at an iDevice file system for what ever crazy reason I have for that day xD - you still need to be able to connect via IP with WinSCP though so I'd guess ...

Make sure to get comfortable with understanding what's needed to be done before flashing it with the OpenWRT.

Heyyyy ya got the nano..!
Just make sure it fully works with the stock firmware before trying to install OpenWRT on it. Some can be buggy straight from the company...but that's just less than 3 to 5% ...most reviews on the USA Amazon site are 5 and 4 star reviews, happy with it.

If you don't want to compile a new bin-file, you don't need to install Ubuntu to put OpenWRT on the Nano Router. You can flash it thru windows too.
You simply flash the special "factory" firmware file he made that makes the HooToo Nano accept the OpenWRT firmware...then also a sysupgrade firmware ...
