The program logs into your jaduka account. changes your phone number to the number you want to call. then it opens your dukalink, inserts your phone number and intiates the call.

This is driving me NUTS!! My MJ was working fine for 2 months, then last week it started crashing and rebooting itself 5 mins into a conversation. then after it reboots itself it crashes again after two mins.. and then it won't reboot anymore!!!

I have since received a new second magicjack and in the process of rebuilding my computer with a fresh copy of windows xp pro when complete I will try the second mj to see if the sound is still there really am skeptical it will solve any issues. I will keep you updated.

Update: I've updated selected vista updates and it is working well.

PS i'm using Vista 32 ultimate.

I've updated my Vista today with 9 mandatory security updates, and MJ stopped working after that. The error: must connect MJ warning.

Had to do system restore to fix. BEWARE!!

Great tip i discovered today --

You CAN use MJ dongle-free with a phone -- all you need it to buy a cheap USB voip phone from any local store! Works like a dream. now i can use MJ anywhere i go w/out the dongle.

i have a problem with the mj softphone. it wont let me close the "choose your device" window. it prompts "unsupported audio file formart". everything works fine. anyone know how to fix this?

I've had the MagicJack for a couple of weeks now and it seamed to be fine, but today two people have told me they tried to call my # and they couldn't get through. When i try to call from my cell it works, but i'm missing calls, and it does not show on the softphone either.
