My mj just went down as well yesterday. When I try it with mjmd5 and x-lite I get "registration error: 408 - Request Time out." I'm a bit hesitent to put the dongle in and check for a new password though..

It`s generally caused by low-cost hardware used in telephone adapter. Sound quality is so good (ofc not 100% clear but for this price is ok) using programs like X-lite or ATA adapters.

You might also want to mention they don't offer LNP either. Nor do they own any nationwide infrastructure that is capable of generating revenue like Ymax.

If not needing a PC really floats your boat, you can just provision your MJ sip details on a $50 ATA like many people.

It still works, but it can be a pain figuring out the delay amount needed. I just posted an updated (beta) version of SIP Info. Check it out and see if you have any better luck. If not, you can still run the one from magicjackhacks website.

Yes, I'm having that problem. In the "early days" my voicemail worked very well. I only started checking it again about a month ago so I don't know how long it's been kaput. Doesn't work but I'm not concerned with it. :o

MJ has been reliable since (with a few network exceptions) late July, 2007. Now all I get is the "Warning you must plug MagicJack into a USB port" for the last couple of days.

On my main machine the latest update that I've checked with perfmon.msc indicates very little CPU time needed now. Previously the Favorites polling would cause spikes in CPU usage that seemed to slow down other uses of the computer.

TOF, my experience regarding polling doesn't match yours. Its still consuming excessive CPU time (i.e. anything greater than 0 is excessive when the program is minimized and idle). I minimize the amount of time consumed by not having any IE Favorites at all, but even that only drops average ...
