I tried out the new, ground-breaking changes to Google Voice-- all free:
1. A softphone.
2. You can call any type of phone in the US or Canada, from your computer.
3. If you keep Google Chat running in the background, your computer will ring when people call you from their computer or from any type ...

Installing a FemtoJack is like setting up a mini cell tower in your home; an additional source of harmful electromagnetic radiation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnCnmHK5KTA
I'll stick with my regular MagicJack. (BTW, I've eliminated WIFI from my home. All internet connections are now wired).

Talking Caller ID works now, after adjusting settings in Control Panel.
Have you considered my earlier suggestion regarding suppression of popups? This would especially be useful when Talking Caller ID is used, to prevent calls from interfering with your visual use of the computer, but hearing who ...

Redpepper, more suggestions:
1) The speed dial display can eliminate the need to use MJ's contacts list, and all speed dial entries can be kept completely private from MJ. If you click on a speed dial number (SD#) it places the call. Then add an additional display page for speed dial #’s 101 thru ...

Redpepper, could you reduce the loudness of the beep tone that is heard every 15 seconds in Call Record? In the past when my calls have been recorded (like by a stockbroker) the beep tone has been much softer, so you could still hear the other party despite the beep.

(1) Has anyone tried the TK6000 for whole house use? Like with MJ, you could plug the TK6000 into the wall phone jack (making sure phone co. line is disconnected first). We know that with a 500mA USB a MJ can power up to about 4 phones. How many mA goes into a TK6000 (stepped down from a/c)?

I've completed the switch to Comcast, and can confirm that I'm getting the 6mb service (tests at about 5mb during peak use time of day). So the rep. was correct-- the lowest nominal speed that a Comcast customer can get is 6mb, even if they sign up for the "economy internet" service that specifies a ...

The only catch is that the internet is only at "economy" speeds. Comcast economy speed was adjusted up to 1mb on Nov. 24, 2008, according to a press release, but informally (with a "wink") Comcast reps are saying I will get the 6mb anyway. However ...

Upgraded sound OR keep enough USB power for more functions?
The upgrade improved sound, at the expense of reducing power coming out of the USB and affecting functionality.
See my posts in the RJ-11 thread for how I know this.
Should there be a new toggle in the MJ menu to allow the user to select either upgraded sound or have the (pre-upgrade) amount of ...

MJ was upgraded, and the phones no longer rang.
I unplugged one of my three phones (I have MJ hooked up to my house wiring), and the other two phones now ring! Just turning off the ringtone to my third phone wasn't good enough; I had to unplug the phone.

Webinars using phone & MJ, instead of buying a headset?
My regular telephone is already plugged into my MJ, which is plugged into my computer USB. If I go to a webinar on the internet, can I use my regular telephone to listen and talk during the webinar? Can this be done instead of buying a headset?

I like the plain GE phone (about $6.00 at Target). Especially if you have MagicJack go through your house wiring, since this phone draws very little current. Also has the "flash" button for call waiting. The base "phone holder" can be completely separate from the cord, so the cord can go directly ...
