How do I set the handset to manual instead of automatic?

I'm not sure if all the Panasonic models work the same, but for my KX-TGA401 here are the steps I took to turn off the time's automatic setting.

Press "Menu"
Scrolll Up or Down to "Set date & time" and press select

I think it really depends on your ISP / internet connection. I have a simple voice/usb fax modem with FaxTalk software and it works great for faxing with MagicJack Plus. I had problems with the original magicjack. I got it from store.getfaxing.com and you DON'T pay a monthly fee or pay per fax to ...

Mine expired too, and when I went to renew, it gave me the same screen. If you look at the basic features you don't get PSTN calling, so you can only call other MagicJack customers.

I upgraded to MagicJack Plus 2014 and I thought this was included with the purchase. Did I just pay $10 for no reason?

an old software package called Talkworks pro software from Symantec did this and it worked with a voice modem, it was a PC based solution but it only works for Windows XP or older. You could also look at FaxTalk Messenger at store.getfaxing.com , it does fax and voice mail using a fax/voice modem.

As mentioned a zillion times on this forum ( and elsewhere) MJ does not provide free service to certain phone numbers, exchanges or even whole area codes. That usually happens when the local carrier charges to much for termination fees.
There are two choices : Either pay up or look for another ...

MagicJack forces me to pay for a Local Call.

I get a recorded message when I call a specific number in my area code using Magic Jack, and Magic Jack Plus. It states to add pre-paid minutes to the account by going to http://my.magicjack.com/prepaid

When I go there it asks to purchase pre-paid minutes for "International" calling. Problem is ...

Actually it makes sense if you think about it. Your PC can be powered off and the Plus works, therefore there is no sofware required on your PC for it to "listen" to the Plus when it makes a call unless the Plus is in the USB port.

yes, but everyone has a unique MJ account. all calls have to be ...

no, this is a brand new number with the Magic Jack Plus. I never added this specific number to the National Do Not Call List. I don't even have the MagicJack Plus plugged in. Telemarketing calls FLAW exposed in MagicJack Plus.

I was surprised to see that with MagicJack Plus, when you first register and pick your number you get a list of numbers to choose from from your selected area code. This list of numbers are in full view. I was surprised to see this. My thought was "heres a free list of numbers for scammers and ...
