all i did on my asterisk 1.6 is saved the patch in mjpach.txt from the 1st message.

then in /usr/src/asterisk/channels run

patch -l < mjpatch.txt
that is a lower case L not a 1

then backup one dir (cd ..) and run make

only thing it should do is recompile chan_sip into a .o and .so file ...

Most stock FreePBX 1.4.x distros do not use the new .lua and and .ael

so just telling someone to remove their extensions.conf will kill their system.

Correct me if I am wrong but isnt the .lua and .ael standard for 1.6.x? and not 1.4.x?

I looked into 4 different 1.4.x distros before writing this ...

Correct me if I am wrong. But I think this is fine a normal error. Something they do the first reg is supposed fail Thats sorta how they weed out the rest sorta a trick they did to well I have no idea I am getting the feeling early on when the first workarounds came out that in the wireshark dumps ...

I would like to just point out a couple of things that will make your MJ to Asterisk life better.

Use extensions.ael and extensions.lua. Delete extenisons.conf. DON'T USE IT!

Strip your binaries after compile.

Why do all of you make it so hard when it is so simple?

PATCHES? We don't need no ...

Then its not worth the risk for the amount of the product when they cant guarantee they will be around for the next 5-10 years

remember you are starting mjproxy with your user id and password on the command line, not your brothers.....

have to change both, that is why yours works and his does not. when using his, mj is getting confused with his data being passed from the ata, and your data being used in the mjproxy program ...

that is why you pay for everything like this with a CC. Most CC companies have no problems issusing chargebacks - some times up to 90 days or more - especially if you say they are not honoring a warrant or TOS. Ask ATT, Sprint and Verizon.

Especially after a company changes the barn without noitce ...

On my inbound routes I had to add E and 01 to my DID number, dunno when MJ starting doing this - but it has changed....

check your dial patterns on BOTH your trunks and outbound routes.

I dont use them on the trunks, i configure mine in the outbound routes so I can pick what trunk I need by how i dial

you will either have to download and patch the source then compile or use the mjproxy program and run it on your server. I just patched my home box and it works great, will patch and change the work box from the mjproxy program tomorrow after my days off.

I am currently running PIAF with MagicJack. You will need the mjproxy daemon running somewhere to do the nonce twirling.

Trixbox works just fine - yes they forked FreePBX, but there is nothing technically wrong with that.

I have a trixbox and a PBXiaf both running this config with no problems.

well,

you can route it like any other voip sip trunk, so if you have other - you can just add it to the group so it will get answered like normal with the others

if your using a host=192.x.x.x address - that is incorrect


host=XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX is the numeric IP of the proxy address you selected

so if you are using a proxy of: proxy1.SaltLakeCity.talk4free.com

your host ip would be 67 ...
