Re: Original MagicJack through a router
Since the orig MJ requires an OS to run ( Operating System) the answer ( which has been discussed here before) is no you can not plug the Orig MJ into the USB port of your or any other router..
Technically routers do have an operating system, it's just not Windows XP-7 or OSX which are the only ...

I think mJ may be blocking all anonymous calls currently.
If you are looking for mJ to add the feature to block certain #s from the web portal, you will probably be waiting a long time since they don't seem very concerned with additional features. The only option right now is using magicFeatures ...

I think if you use a debit card, rather than a credit card, they put a hold on the full amount. They probably do this so they can insure the money is available in the account to charge it after 30 days. So in effect they tie up that money in your bank account they day you place an order with a debit ...

Again, your solution only applies to Magic Jack used in conjunction with a PC. I'm going to assume that, like me, most people paid extra for MagicJack PLUS so they could use it as a standalone. I hope MJ fixes the sound quality and beeping issues!

mJ does not have any FAX specific functionality. But with any VoIP FAX is very hit and miss. And mJ can't do it at all without a FAX ...

I just got off a chat with tech support, explaining that I wanted to know if there was an upgrade. I wasn't sure that my question was really understood at times. However, I was given a link to and exe file that was simply called magicJackSetup.exe, which was about 12.3 MB. The tech told me, that my ...

Caryc,
Your router should have a page that shows the DHCP leases that are currently being used, one of those will be your mJ+.
Another option is to use something like Angry IP Scanner to scan your whole network for all devices with an IP address.

It gives $69.95 for the device with first year "free," then subsequent years are $19.95. So I guess they will hold that annual fee for awhile, at least. Same 30-day trial as before.
I believe the "$19.95 per year" is only if you purchase the 5 year plan, 1 year of service is $29.95 purchased ...

Something I have been looking at is the Virgin Mobile (which uses the Sprint network). That will not work. The mJ software requires the mJ dongle be plugged in to operate, you can not use the mJ software without it anymore.
