Hi sd73,
Maybe look into a plug in outlet timer. I use them to turn my lights on and off when I'm away to make it look like someone is home.
You can pick one up for a few bucks.

Should there be 2 instances of Handset?
Hi,
MagicJack 4.1 (the old see-thru dongle)
Windows 10 Home 32-bit v.1709
In 'Device Manager', under 'Audio inputs and outputs', should there be 2 instances of 'Handset (USB Internet Phone by TigerJet)'?

Hi Bill,
Thank you for your reply.
I'm using the Magic Jack on an Intel Compute-Stick, so leaving it on 24/7 is not an issue at all.
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en ... stick.html
I'll follow your advise and leave well enough alone.
Thanks again,
-Kevin N.

Magic Jack Go - Yes or No?
Hi MJ Forum:
I have an old, 4.1 type magic jack (the old see-thru dongle). It still seems to work well enough.
Since the dongle MUST be connected to the computer at all times, I've grown accustomed to using the magic jack GUI for recent calls and contacts and I use that GUI often.

I gave it a go and it does work as far as making and receiving calls goes. I can not however get the 'Contacts' or 'Recent' lists to d/l.
I've tried listing *.magicjack.com and *.talk4free.com in the 'Trusted Sites' zone of IE 6. I've also lowered the security as much as I could see fit under IE's ...

Will an HP T5700 TC still work?
Hi All,
I have a 512/512 T5700, Win XPe SP2 w/IE 6.
MJ version: 4.1 (the old silver see-thru type)
Q. Will MJ work in the above environment?
Q. Will the fact that IE 6 is involved cause any hiccups?

Re: SteveHC
Buy and inexpensive Hub or Switch to easily add more ports to your existing router.I really wish manufacturers would start putting out residential wireless routers with more than 4 Ethernet ports on them.

Hi demj1308,
Faxing has never been MJ's strong suit.
Look to this thread see if port forwarding helps. It did for me as far as the sound quality goes.

Hi VaHam The update will have rebuilt the mjusbsp directory so the file will have been recreated by MJ and it will appear to be in the same place it was before deleting it; but it is now located on the DOK physically. .
Perhaps this will become clearer to me after I give it a shot.

VaHam,
First of all Kudos to Mark Russinovich, tonyben and yourself. This is brilliant in it's simplicity.
If I've read your post correctly... wouldn't the directory in the following quote have been already removed with the 'del' or 'rd commands?

Hi Netkid,
Don't hold me to this, but it's my understanding that you must use the Admistratior account in order for MJ to load, operate and update. Probably has to do with write permissions.
This was why I put the shortcut to setup.exe in the Adminstrator/Startup folder.

This is something of a paradox, where in you need to set the priority to a high number to give it a low priority. mj needs to be given a priority of 1.Hobby wrote: no matter how low a priority I make any other network traffic,
