I have tried both... Whenever I hit the * key on my phone I get that test message. When I use *1234 I get a recording saying in order to complete this call.. I must dial the area code and the phone number.. Can you block caller ID with *67? that doesn't seem to work..

MJ order
That happened to me last week when I ordered. When I got to the shopping cart, I was undecided with the 5 year service, or ordering more than one. The 30 day trial wasn't there for five year plans, if you order more than one Magic Jack, the faster shipping method wasn't on the 30 day trial either ...

Broadband Prices
$60.00 a month for broadband doesn't sound that bad. I live in the sticks and my DSL costs me $90.00 a month for 3 megs down 256 K up. Cable just came to the area and can do 10 megs down 1 meg up for $38.00 a month.

alarm systems
But.. I have seen intruders do fancy things. Like use a cellular jamming device or cut the cellular coax cable or the actual antenna to defeat the cellular back up.. I guess NO alarm system is tamper proof.

Might want to open up a command prompt on your computer and run MSCONFIG. See if you can shut down some unwanted programs that might be hogging your system's resources. I just did that on my Sister in Law's computer. She had yahoo messenger, limewire, adobe acrobat, myspace chat program, ICQ, a ...

You might want to try www.grandcentral.com a call forwarding service that is free from Google. They may have a local number that you can forward to your Magic Jack number.

When you plug in MJ, I would think most of the people who plug in MJ in a USB port have intentions to use it.
In this plug and play world most consumers WANT the convince of drivers to auto install when you plug a product into the USB port.
I am one of the Tech geeks who is against it ...

I am probably going to order magic Jack tomorrow. Now that Cable Internet has FINALLY arrived in my area, I want to dump DSL, and my land phone. The local phone company here is evil.. Long story but at least my phone won't be listed anymore as the General Clinic in town.
