I lied it is not receiving call from Vonage customers again...........lasted 5 days

Finally got it sorted out with tech support chat and about three hours of fiddling around....
They had me add ports and 4 servers to my list, that did not seem to solve the problem so the agent turned it over to the engineers.

So, now, finally, I am able to receive calls from Vonage callers to my ...

Vonage calls go to my other MJ number, no problem.

The problem seems to be the Vonage number that I had ported to new MJ+

Vonage claims that they are not blocking and my original V number has been removed from their data base.

MJ claims that the problem is not on their end.

What to do?

I reported to Vonage and I was an old Vonage customer who ported V number over to MJ. V claimed that my number was not in their data base and that thy were not blocking my number

I was a Vonage customer for many years and recently switched to MJ+.
I ported my Vonage number to MJ+.
Now, my number is blocked for Vonage callers.
(I kept my old MJ activated and had no problems)
They get a message that MJ+ call can't be completed and the MJ+ ad runs.

Did not realise that there was a 'annual' re-occurring fee of $9.99. just for porting your own number, that sucks, Gunnar....

Chat assured me that there was a $20 porting fee and that annual was $29.99..

MJ+= $29.95 per year, by the year only $19.95 per year if you buy 5 extra years

$20 more TO PORT YOUR OLD NUMBER, THEN $29.95 A YEAR, by the year.

International calls are not free. you must have a prepaid balance to make international calls.

You don't HAVE to switch units. just keep your original unit and buy the Plus,
especially if you can get it at half price.

Keep your original till it expires.

Add the new Plus on your original MJ number.

Then you have 2 units at pretty good deal.

Use the plus as a stand alone and use the ...

You will not be charged by Vonage for transferring/porting your number to another carrier. Also, you will not be charged for terminating your service with Vonage ...

My experience has been with hotels in the states and family member in Europe.

If the hotel has an 'in room' telephone...you can use their handset.
I connect my netbook, usually, wirelessly to the hotel system, plug in the MJ, then disconnect the hotel phone and plug it into the MJ.

When i get calls from Ozztralia they are in 'Strine', a local tongue.

Yes, all of the above, but as the calls are free, we just call again till we get a good connex.
Sometimes it will take a few calls.

Reporting back .......MJ from Holland...my wife was having some issues.
Wireless connex from hotel.
It will work.
Turned out that it was the cheap Innovage phone.
It is possible to call from Holland to US MJ number but the connex varies greatly and may have to call several times to get a good connex ...
