I had trouble as well. Not just MJ, but all of my VOIP providers. My QOS was measured at about 35%. However, about a month ago, I lost all service signals for almost a day, and then when I git a signal, the first day was less than 1mbps download. The day after that, my speed went to 6mbps download ...

"Bring your own device" is the top of the list. Having "Name" (incoming and outgoing) would also be very nice.
If the 2 features above were available, I would purchase several more numbers.

Voxox previously allowed "BYOD", but they changed their SIP passwords.

Just like a national socialist party regime. Allow a company to spend millions in Fem2cell development, and then outlaw the sale. It looks like politicians are looking for more bribes (handouts, campaign contributions, etc) to allow free market enterprise to continue in the United States.

susankasher,
I had a problem with Clearwire blocking ports necessary for VOIP. However, I put my modem output into my Netgear router. MJ (and my other voip) works properly. When hooking the computer directly to the modem, MJ would lose the internet connection after about 20 minutes. So I use the ...

Block caller ID

Voxox has an application to let you "spoof" your caller ID at will. Unfortunately, they don't support standalone ATA boxes. You can either pay $2.45 monthly for unlimited minutes, or PAYG at 1 cent per minute (2 cents per minute if you use the callback feature to set up the call.

It is strange. If ...

New features

I received an email from Dan because I asked if ATA was "off the table". He said no. He also stated that soon the flash memory would not be necessary. What is kept in the flash of the dongle, would be maintained on their servers.
Standalone devices should be ready by the end of the year.

I do not ...

"Elections?
What's this all about? "

Generally, if something is happening soon, it happens before the next political election (else it is not soon, bit great in the distance of time). 4 elections ago, something was going to happen soon, but has yet to be.

I have had a Magicjack for almost 2 years ...

TK6000

You must have had a good unit. My TK6000 had choppy outgoing voice, as if it was using G729 without sufficient buffering. I sent Mine back. Lifetime service is great, but choppy outgoing voice meant an early death.

Sooner or later, (probably after a more politicians have severe heart attacks or are ...

MJ alternative

Voxox has unlimited calling for $2.45 a month. They have support for a SPA 2102 ATA.
The initial tests were good, but later I heard a voice saying "password invalid". I received an email that customer service is fixing the problem.

I had already voted in 4 different elections since I bought my MJ. May08, Nov08, May 09, Nov 09

Re: SIP login for MJ

I received a similar response from Borislow back in January. He said that it would possibly be available in March. If it came out, that would have happened about 7 months ago.

Since MagicBlock is out, there should be no reason for him to limit service to the softphone in the computer.

Currently, I ...

RE: MJ fix

If you leave a dedicated computer on all of the time, the additional electricity expanse would cost more than contracting an unlimited service and using an ATA. If your computer consumes only 250 watts while operating, at 10 cents per kwh, that would cost an additional $18.00 monthly.

Isn't the easiest way to keep from seeing the "box" simply to move the top of the MJ window to the bottom of the screen.
I assume that everybody already knows how, but for the newbies:
Move the pointer to the top (but just inside) of the MJ window.
Press and hold the left mouse button. - Move the ...

Mine may have been working even without the reboot. The only reason for my reboot was because I "shorted" out the computer while plugging in a possibly damaged camera.
From the "shorted" reboot, I did have to unplug my magic jack and plug it back in. I assumed that the MJ program did not start up ...
