That's weird. Mine has never even worked by NOT using the area code. I must always use 10 digit dialing. It's no big deal for me once you get used to it, you don't even think about it.

Ardfarkle, GREAT idea! Having something automate the selection of different proxies periodically would seemingly help a lot. The question I have is how would it know if that proxy is actually up and running?

Whenever mine will not allow call in, I stop the spoofer and be sure it connects normally. Then I call the MJ number from my cell. Once it works, I then put the spoofer back in place and all seems to work then.

hype8912, while I can see what you are saying with the web service, I do not think the issue is with the proxies going down. It looks more like an expiration of some sort of registration that our magicjacks do on the proxy. Once it expires, the spoofing seems to 'freak out'. This is all 100 ...

I had to switch from Nashville to Newark today to get my spoofing back working.

Be sure .net is loaded from the MS updates.

My still works, I'm currently pointed to Newark. I reboot my pc every other night and it seems to help. I will have the same sporadic problems as everyone else but I've had good luck clearing the DNS and pointing at either Nashville or Newark.

What operating system are you running? Service pack level, .net patches, etc...

Unless you are using the hosts file for other networking, the only thing that should be unremarked is the 127.0.0.1 locahost and the 127.0.0.1 "magicjack proxy address".

I have running for my whole home. Easy actually. Here's what I did:

Stop magicjack
Edit the hosts file in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc with the information provided.
Load the spoofer (I placed the file in c:\windows\system32 and created a shortcut and placed in the Startup folder to start at ...

Hey MagicHack, as an enhancement, you could have the tool automatically install to STARTUP or the RUN in the registry. Manual is easy but hey, I'm lazy!
