BTW, am I also correct in my understanding that the caller ID only shows a phone number and no name?

There are several answers to that question.

First, I don't have to dial my MJ phone number, or check my email to see if I have a message. My answering machine just "beeps" to tell me I missed a call.

Main reason, my wife likes our answering machine and is not going to change.

Thanks Joe. I was afraid of that.

I had one of the old MJ's and never did use it much because I could not disable MJ's VM.

Frankly, when I bought the MJ+ I had forgotten about the VM issue and so not sure I will be able to use it.

Any idea why MJ forces you to use their VM? Pain in the butt if ...

Number of rings before MJ VM picks up.

I have a new MJ+.

Is their any way to change the number of rings before MJ voice mail picks up? I understand it is set to four rings.

For a number of reasons, I want to use my own answering machine, not MJ's. And, I want it to pick up in four rings. Not three, not five, not six, but four.

Right ...
