Hopz, are you saying the beeping problem is common across the board? I've done the fix, and people still suddenly start saying, "Hello? Hello?" in the middle of a conversation.

Also, do you know what those random numbers indicate when they come up? I hope each number does not represent a beep ...

One invaluable bit of information I've learned from this thread and forum is you don't have to pay the big bucks to call long distance. Skype would most likely be my next choice, but so far so good with MJ.

Thanks to all for posting.

Is there a novice thread where newbies could ask questions without fear of being told to research through lot of messages they don't understand?

Just asking.

Working as tech support for MJ has to be an act of desperation considering the abuse that's dished out on line to them; it wouldn't be tolerated in a brick and mortar.

They all have problems

I've been reading Sykpe and Ooma blogs; they sell service/devices on the order of magic jack, and all have problems and customers who complain bitterly about the product and lack of customer service.

Ooma is a little device that costs anywhere from $200 to $400 - I've seen both prices quoted - one ...

In my view, the only way to exercise due diligence is to buy it and try it. I'm not a computer tech, but in my case it has worked as advertised; so I can only believe it isn't the mj unit, it's something about the computer.
