Been using magic jack here at my place of business for about a year now, just about to renew my MJ service. But I've done some searching on this forum and can't find a solution to this.

-Oh course I don't want to use MJ's softphone anymore.
-I D/Led X-lite, set it up, and could not get it ...

yup same here, My ipod touch is now my new iphone (but I still have my cell too)

The fring program on my Ipod touch takes all 20 digits of my SIP password, the problem I was having was I was not typing my password in caps!!
I felt stupid after I figured that out. But works great now.

Something I did that I don't hear many people mention was.

Click start, Run, Then type msconfig hit enter
In the general tab click "selective startup"

Then click the start up tab and uncheck any unnecessary programs that dont need to load on start up (I had a lot of unchecking)

The easiest way I made it work was,
Had 2 new verizon land lines ran into the building.
Line 1 was the main incoming phone number,
Line 2 was the fax line since MJ doesn't seem to like fax machines.

With a minimum of 2 land lines per account Verizon says you can transfer calls to any number ...

The above worked for me. I can now make calls on my ipod touch using my magicjack number.

I too am having very bad call quality, and I've checked with friends also using the same proxy. Isn't there a way to change which proxy your using?
I think theres one in Sandiego?

I found out you can use sipgate.com on your iphone or ipod touch. (which is like fring)
