I use a Plantronics USB Headset with MJ and Skype...and excellent sound quality both ways. I tried a Logitech USB headset tand it was very good too.

If you are using a USB Hub, try using a powered one. Always use a USB digital headset to get best sound quality.

I was in a similar situation.

I don't know what your intention is but AFAIK, the MJ SoftPhone would not work without the Tigerjet device.

One way to achieve this is to get your MJ SIP details and use another softphone like X-Lite with that info.

I use a Uniden DECT 6.0 cordless phone with my MJ and never had any problems dialing calling card pins, responses to automated voice (like in credit card related calls) etc.

I think this has to do more with your internet connection than anything else.
When I use my MJ from home (I have Comcast cable), I get the best call quality. I speak to people who live in different countries and use MJ as well as other phones.

I just finished my setup (total time - ~10minutes) and MJ is working fine with bluetooth.
OS - VISTA Business 64Bit
BlueSoleil version 5.0.5 for 64bit

AFAIK....the bluetooth story goes like this:
Your PC on which you run MJ should have a built-in bluetooth support, or you should buy a USB-Bluetooth adapter. They are available for less than $20 these days.
The bluetooth headset / USB-Bluetooth adapter should come with software that runs on the PC ...

I had this problem when I bought MJ (about 6 months back).

I replaced my old cordless phone (900MHz) with a new one (5.8GHz) and plugged MJ to my machine through a powered USB Hub, and voila....my phone started ringing.

Some of these skins (especially the SJLabs default skin) open up new possibilities like changing caller-id and enabling conditional call-forwarding.

I just noticed the features - I didn't test them out. It would be great if somebody can test these things and post the results.

Suppose I enable call forwarding on the portal. I will put my GrandCentral number as the forwarding number. My GrandCentral forwards calls to my Cell Phone.

Portal not working correctly in IE7

I tried to open the portal (my.magicjack.com) in IE7. I was able to login, but I cannot see my MJ number in the page.

To be more precise, the number briefly appears in the dropdown and disappears.

However, the page is working normally in FireFox 2.0.0.11.

MJ should work well anywhere in the world where you have at least moderate Internet (256kbps at the minimum).

I hear from friends that MJ works well in India. I don't know about Iraq, but if they have a good Internet connection (and the VOIP ports are not blocked by the ISP), then it should work ...

MJ softphone is sending User Agent info (MagicJack / SJPhone etc) along with registration request.

If we use a softphone like X-Lite (and if they log the SIP registration details), can't they find out what we are doing?
