when I pick up on a call I have to wait for 2 ring sounds before i can start the communication.

After download Extract to Desktop then open it only thing you need to change is your proxy address if you using boston then just xxxx to boston of any other city then put your MJ ...

I have the old version of MJ and cpu usage is 100% on dial out. It does fall back to about 15% at idle. My incoming calls are very choppy on the Wyse 9150. Is this really the old MJ or the thin client lacking a large enough processor and ram (I have 512 flash 256mb ram and 400mhz AMD Geod processor ...

I confirm the hardware is the problem
and announce this case solved unless someone can comeup with a fix

just return the old magicjack instead of the new one that you buy and let magicjack deal with the old hardware returns

Hmm what version of magic chip do you have? Mine is 0832 P5674-010. With it I don't get any overloading of the cpu and everything works fine.

I tried another majickjack from a friend that has all pink screen with majickjack logo on it. it worked way better than my own as pictured in couple posts above. but the voice was still choppy incoming and outgoing.

I have heard there are 2 hardware versions
the USB dongle


the old one uses double the amount of CPU resources.

can I tell by looking at them or is it more internal and need a software to pull it out..

I figured out the problem. There are 2 different hardware versions of the magicjack. I happen to have both but was using only one for testing until now. Yes disable the write filter. Correct on usb. I uninstalled them from add/remove programs in the control panel but then did have to delete the directories too to get everything.

Just setup a 9150SE with the newest flash from the Wyse site (B545).

Then I did the following:

1. Default login as admin
2. Disable Write Protect
3. Disable power saving features of usb
4. Delete Citrix & Sun software
5. Plug in Magicjack and let it install.

well that did not make any difference...

maybe the USB dongle is being used as USB 1 or 1.1
and that is why it kills it
it needs a USB 2

-Installed firmware

so i guess it is the way we install it...

When I plug in magicjack the magicjack does not pop up to install
I get the windows driver thing to install new hardware.

that firmware is made for our device it is weird it gives the BSOD.

did you try the basic image or the one with scripts and patches included?

almost 200$ nice device no computer needed
perfect quality
at least free for 3 years
unlimitted calls to US (really 3000min per month) but mj kills if you use anything close to 2000min per month so ooma still better

the only thing that MJ has better is calls to canada which is really not ...

the first time they changed my password my acount was working then it stopped after a day

you never know if changing the phone number will last or will go bad again in a day ..
