I have now done over 15 dumps. I am sure that I have found the new password and my userid has not changed. Yet I still cannot get the ata to register. I am stubborn and will not give up. I have had my ata working with mj for over a year until a few days ago. please help

I found that they changed my proxy as well. Now they only show the ipaddress. Which you can run an A RECORD for. I have changed to the proxy as a ip address:5070 and as the proxy01.city.talk4free.com:5070

I have been using the spa 1001 for over a year. A few days ago it would not registration faild on the server. I plugged in the MagicJack and received the update. Now The ATA won't register.

So in other words I can have a 5 way conference call on 4 channels. Unless the provider allows me to sign in with more than one device. On the spa 1001 I thought I could sign in twice and have a line one and line two. ie: two channels on each line.

So what good are unlimited channels? What kind of ...

So if I have 4 channels.... that is the same as two lines..... my SPA 1001 can handle 2 lines. Can I setup the box to use line 1 and 2 on the same account and then use them at the same time?

I have googled for sip channels and I still haven't figured out what they are. There are some provivders that provide 2,4, or unlimited channels when sign up for a sip account.

I used the magic jack utilities 1.6 to retrieve my information. Then on my intel macbook with Mac osx 10.5.6, I downloaded x-lite 3.0 direct from countersoft. I entered in the information as follows

Display Name: My Name [This is the one that I can change for outbound CID]
Username: EXXXXXXXXX01 ...

I understand that xlite will find the name that matches the number within the phonebook for incoming calls.

What I am trying to get across is that I can change the name on the outgoing CID with xlite, then call a local number and the name on the local phone will change to correspond with the ...

I should mention that I am using x-lite 3.0 (OSX) by counterpath

why would xlite have CID working on outbound then?
Try it and you shall see. I have done this with my own eyes.

when i use the softphone xlite i can change the caller id. So there mst be some sort of cname

The outbound callerid show just the number twice instead of my name and the number, ie:

How can I get this to be

My Name
2345678901

Under line 1 I have put in my name for the CID but still only shows the number. Any suggestions welcome.

I don't have the answer to running as a service but I have been looking around to see where the files are. if you check under /users/[username]/.majicJack/ There are two folders:

/ISA which has some file for an upgrade of sorts.

/Softphone which is where the actual program is installed called ...

if you enable to see hidden files and folders you can see more.

/Volumes/PHONE/majicjack/AddressBook.xml

there are five files in total. The other four are:

autorun.ico
CallLogs.clm
CfgCacheMac.dat
Profiles.db

I thought that I would plug the majic jack into my router's usb just for kicks. I have dial tone. I cannot dial in or out to that phone however. I have the router set to use the usb port as a usb drive. Kind of makes me wonder what is possible....
