I'm using an HP All-In-One 4200 as a fax. I have the speed set to slow (9600baud) and the error correction enabled. I tried it with the error correction disabled (per previous posts and from MJs FAQs) but it didn't work until I enabled error correction.

The phone number is selected once the unit is registered/activated. If you would want to keep it as a spare in case your current one fails, just purchase it but don't avtivate/register it. When your current one fails, log onto the MJ chat and have them activate the new one with your old number ...

I actually have a second MJ used only for faxing and have no problems sending or receiving. The only thing I had to do was to lower the speed and keep error correction enabled.

Up and running on 2 MJs 24/7 since 2/18/09. Have not rebooted either MJ or PCs.

Your phone has to be Call Waiting Caller ID capable.
