Can anyone tell me why i am not getting a dial tone ?

I can use my softphone and call and receive calls but i can't use it through my cordless, or my cord phones.
When i connect my cordless i hear my self loud. and
When i connect Cord nothing happens except i hear beeps of the buttons ...
