Can I make test calls without bothering anyone?
You can test your MagicJack, and get an idea of what the other party hears, by calling the special echo-test number: 909-390-0003. This number will echo everything back to you with a ...

I've only skim read through this thread; I've been following it for a few days. I hope my comment hasn't already been discussed. I believe the problem here is that you're calling a busy number and magicjack is simply reverting to dial tone. It's easy to test this theory if the other party has a 2nd ...

Re: MJ SDK
Greetings,
I want to write an application for MJ - is there an SDK out there that can be used todo so? Officially from MJ?
If unofficial - can anyone post some possibilities.
Thanls.

Sorry to see you go Darkman, you're one of the few that has had service similar to mine and therefore gave me good leads to go on. I think we both have come to the conclusion that our ISP is at least partly to blame. It would be nice if mJ inc took over the fight against them. Then again, what is mJ ...

Ok I think I can clear this up with my QoS problems. I ran another test today. The results... My mJ works on friend's DSL perfectly. Their DSL voip test scores were worse than mine, the plan they pay for [2M/1M] is slower than my TW plan [10M/2M]. I used the exact same dongle, same 3 inch cord they ...

Have you ever tried a different MJ server other than the one your MJ is set for. In the last week I tried a couple of different proxies with the dongle and found the quality of calls can differ using different proxies. A few proxies I have found to be poor for me are Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles ...

I'm still using the original contact list that I scavenged from Windows3.1 (cardfile.exe = 91kb). I "would" sympathize with you guys about a Contact List except that I'm all wrapped up with call quality issues. I had most all of them at one time or another and can honestly say that "my" mJ works ...

redpepper, I know this isn't your domain, but since you're into the MJ code, would you have any thoughts as to why the Windows Installer would re-install the upgrade every time I reboot my PC? If you don't, I understand. I keep seeing your posts about the upgrade reinstalling itself and what comes ...

Re: Garbled to 813 area code only
My home area code is 727 the next closest area code is 813. Calls to 727 seem to be fine. Calls to 813 are garbled and have a high failure rate on faxes. I can talk to other distant area codes ok also.
The problem is always on the other end we always hear fine.

I can't help much with lost data but if any trace is still there it will be in a file called "AddressBook.xml" without quotes.

Re: Static on toll-free calls only - What's up with that?
From the moment I got it, my MJ has worked exceptionally well in both making and receiving calls to private numbers. However, I get terrible static when dialing any toll free number (800, 877, etc). Can anybody explain this?

My Panasonic KX-TG2700 is now dialing out after the June x??x upgrade. (the December update disabled dialing). Yes, I had put MJ "aside", using landline for house phone. The MJ was unplugged for about 2 weeks and as soon as it got plugged in it took update v1.80.4841.3386 . The first call out to ...
