After reading these posts, I have determined that I do NOT have the upgrade yet. I recreated my contacts list with the numbers that I had copies of and the list actually survived a restart of MJ.
Is there a way of getting the upgrade myself or should I wait until I get "Lucky"?

Re: Backing up Contacts
I just got the Contacts list is empty message today. This is the second or third time this has happened since MJ changed the way contacts are stored; I expect it will continue to happen as time goes on.

Batch file to allow Standby (sleep) with MJ connected
I have read most of the threads about putting the computer to sleep (standby) while MJ is active. I developed a very simple batch file that first shuts down MJ, executes Standby and later, when the computer is woken from sleep, restarts MJ automically.

Re: Audio very choppy with Vista
I really don't understand how a router would work well with XP but not Vista.
Mark
I'm not sure I understand either, but you might want to read MS kb/932134. Apparently, my router fits Microsoft's definition of an"outdated" router, even though it is a Microsoft MN-700 router. They only sold ...

Re: Audio very choppy with Vista
I have found the source of the problem by doing what I obviously should have done at first. I disconnected the router and connected my computer directly to the cable modem. All evidence of choppy audio on either handset that I have connected disappeared!

Audio very choppy with Vista
I have been using MJ for almost a year with Windows XP Pro and had little, if any problem. I got a new machine with Vista Ultimate and have had severe audio choppiness ever since. I had a lengthy chat (escalated to a supervisor) yesterday and we tried everything, including using MJ's DNS servers ...

Connectint 2 phones to MJ
I have 2 phones connected to my MJ with a simple 2 line coupler. Is there a better way to connect them? The phone next to my computer works fine, but the extension in another room has choppy audio.

Re: Calling blocked numbers (*82)
When I try to call a number that requires *82 to dial, I get a recorded message that I have reached the Ymax Communication test number.
How do I dial numbers that require a *82 before the area code?

Thanks for your quick replies. I guess I did remove MJ from the port incorrectly, but it seems I have a problem. When MJ is plugged into a USP port, it will not boot. It seems to get locked up immediately and I cannot even get into BIOS. So I have been unplugging MJ when I shut down and replugging ...

I just rebooted my computer and when magicJack loaded, it said "Contacts is empty". The call I made are still available, but there are no labels in the list. Can I get my contacts list back again?

Blue light but no Icons
When I booted up yesterday, magicJack did not install. The blue light came on but no pop-up screen. My Computer shows no icons for MJ! Ihad a LONG tech chat with someone named George who had me try various things, including uninstalling Nero and Roxio but no joy. In Disk Manager I find that ...
