The CID in this thread refers to a FULL or Deluxe like Bellsouth calls it, wich ioncludes NAME and NUMBER, or just the number?
MY CID works fine, even my Directv box displays the calls on my TV but JUST THE NUMBER!!
BTW, That Directv box freaked me out, it dials out like 10 times a day and you can ...

Thank you MURPHY and BUT2002.
Yes I just ordered Directv about a week ago when the freaking autodialing started.
It makes sense now, my second Majic Jack is on the second pair and that is why never autodials.
How do you know those numbers belong to Directv.

Re: Replacing the Phone Company at home

Most of the homes in my area wire each room for telephone, with the end point being the telephone company interconnect box outside the house. I simply opened the box (It's designed for this), and unplugged the RJ11 connector to separate my home from the phone company. Then, I plugged my MagicJack ...

What is a Cheap VOIP device that will work with MagicJack. I want it to work in my wired home with all of my telephone devices, and of course, I don't want my computer to be on at all times just to use the phone..

One, you don't need to be e-mailed if you check this topic regularly
Two, try unplugging the magicJack, rebooting your computer, and plugging it back in.

They say don't use a USB hub, because most are not externally powered and will not work right with the MagicJack. However, if you get a POWERED USB hub, or one that plugs into an external wall, then there's no problem, in fact, it can even FIX a few problems.

I figure it's because the Xbox being plugged in while the MagicJack is causes a fair drop in the USB power supply.

I suggest getting an externally powered USB hub and sticking the MagicJack on it.

You COULD LET it install it as a Dazzle device, then when it's done installing go to the device manager and manually switch the driver to "USB Audio Device"

That is the driver needed by the MagicJack :)
