these days cell phone has been the most reliable to me. I have MJ and stopped using it for the most part. Nettalk is pretty good once the router is setup correctly, but cell phone is the best. It may breakup and static but i always get my call.

I just found out you can't retrieve your voicemail from an outside line. You must dial *98 from you Duo. Wow, even MJ got that right. I hope they get it together.

I notice that when there is bad weather in Florida, i usually get choppy service with MJ here in New Jersey. Most of the time MJ works beautifully. Does Florida weather have a direct effect on MJ service? I thought this due to MJ headquarters being located in Florida.

great info. I use Nlite software to take a full copy of Windows XP and cut it down to size, then i do as you suggest. It becomes a fast and light copy that runs perfect for Magic jack. Then i run this on a thin client with a 6gb micro drive.

before i used a thinclient, i ran MJ on a 900 pentium. no keyboard or mouse. Fresh install of windows xp. ran beautifully. I have it to my brother and he uses it daily with MJ. I now use a thin client and it works great with very little ram. It makes a big difference what runs on the computer.

I agree, check out Alpman's sales. I bought a neoware ca100 maybe 6 months back. I forget i'm not on a landline. The Neoware CA100 is upgradeable. I added 512 mb ram and a 6 gb hd. Ram i had in a closet, and the 6 gb hd was very reasonable. Without those add on's, the setup by Alpman ran fine for MJ ...

I've discovered that faxing using voip is real iffy. I use MJ and when i fax in the morning it goes thru with no problems. Later in the day when traffic is great the recipient may get half a page or it may not go thru. I've tried it with other services and same results.

I just got a new MJ on black Friday for $29.95. When i set it up I had to use a credit card and I had to pay $1 for a one year replacement warranty. THe $1 was sure why not, but i was a little pissed I had to use a cc to continue with registration. I wonder how you register without one.
