I just seen the Magic Jack infomercial for the new plus. Although i've been using the Nettalk since last Feb i still have some love for the MJ. I hope it becomes a big success and voice quality is good. Nettalk has been very good, with the exception of crummy voicemail and a few beeps now and then ...

I, too am going to let my MJ expire. The Nettalk is much better. I can run anything on my computer and still have a great conversation. Nettalk is not without problems, however. I still can't retrieve my voicemail from a remote phone. But all in all it is much better than MJ. Never had someone tell ...

I just found out you can't retrieve your voicemail from an outside line. You must dial *98 from you Duo. Wow, even MJ got that right. I hope they get it together.

I notice that when there is bad weather in Florida, i usually get choppy service with MJ here in New Jersey. Most of the time MJ works beautifully. Does Florida weather have a direct effect on MJ service? I thought this due to MJ headquarters being located in Florida.

Nothing wrong with using an old computer. I used a Pentium 3 for a long time, before i gave it to my mom for her magic jack and it works fine. I checked this computer and at idle it uses about 55 watts. My thin client with a mini hd uses 22 watts. So yes, you'll use a bit more energy, but it will ...

I see Linux as an advantage running MJ in a way a thin client does. Linux can run for months, maybe years without need for a reboot. We know any version of Windows need a reboot, defrag and that sort of maintenance. So, I should be able to set MJ as a home service. I find it necessary to reboot my ...

I agree, check out Alpman's sales. I bought a neoware ca100 maybe 6 months back. I forget i'm not on a landline. The Neoware CA100 is upgradeable. I added 512 mb ram and a 6 gb hd. Ram i had in a closet, and the 6 gb hd was very reasonable. Without those add on's, the setup by Alpman ran fine for MJ ...

It's true. The new MJ will be able to connect to your cell phone and save the charges when you are at home. Will not work with Verizon and Sprint, but any GSM network. her's a link to the article:

I use a thin client and my watt meter tells me it is consuming 22 watts. That's $3 a month in my area. I also checked my old IBM T23 laptop and it consumes 35 watts. Not a big difference, so you may want to run MJ on a laptop. If you choose a thin client, check out the ad for $55 thin clients. they ...

I just got a new MJ on black Friday for $29.95. When i set it up I had to use a credit card and I had to pay $1 for a one year replacement warranty. THe $1 was sure why not, but i was a little pissed I had to use a cc to continue with registration. I wonder how you register without one.

Just wondering because my mom's new MJ setup on a Pentium 3 is perfect. No beeps at all. Calls are landline quality. I've had mine about a year and it's good, but i get a beep now and then. Have the new MJ's solved the beep problem? could it be or is it too early to be sure?
