no landline since maybe 6yrs. Had OptimumVoice for about 2 yrs. Until they charged regular price after special offer. Now have Viatalk, Gizmo Voice with ATA and MJ. I will drop Viatalk soon. Keep Gizmo Voice as main and use MJ for backup. If i didn't have to keep the computer on..... well you know.

after setting up an ATA can you call out on a regular home phone or do you still need the computer? I know it will work for incomming but how is that possible for calling out. Google calls you then the Gizmo number, so i don't see how it would work. You would still need a computer to dial out .

I have a Linksys pap2t used with viatalk. I went to the IP address of the adaptor and logged in as admin. Made some changes, selected save, and it went right back to the old settings after I rebooted. Is this a locked ATA? thanks for your help. Tom

First, make sure the supply wire from your phone company is disconnected. It may be your USB doesn't have enough power to ring all phones. In that case you'll need a powered USB hub, or cordless phones that have their own power.

I believe any VOIP service will drop you for excessive use if you are a customer with an unusual amount of calling. For example , the average customer makes a total of 2000 minutes a month. I make one and a half that, I would probably get a notice after a few months. Excessive use.

MY MJ has been running fine going on a month now. This morning I installed and antivirus (AVG) and afterwards, MJ sound quality went south. I uninstalled the antivirus and did a update for MJ and all is well. Is there something i can do to keep the antivirus program?

my whole house is connected. I use a Vtech cordless model 511, works great. Have a Panasonic 2.4 gz. with answer machine, works great and an old GE in the basement, also cordless and 900mhz. All work great. MJ is plugged into a usb powered hub. So far, three weeks.
