Now, here's some more food for thought.

After my last post, I called a friend of mine who lives about 20 miles from me, but this time I used my Skype service in conjunction with my Vtech Skype enabled cordless phone system. I got absolutely no beeps and the sound is crystal clear. Is this because ...

OK, you people are not going to believe this, but here goes.

After reading about others having these beeping problem, I saw an ad about Sipgate that was posted on this forum. So I visited their site, registered with them to try the FREE features of their service and from another party I ordered an ...

When magicJack first came out, one could access the settings for the voicemail like turning it on or off, or setting the amount of rings whereby the user could set it to six so the standard house answering machine could pick-up first. That was a good feature.

But that has become a thing of the past ...

ANY UPDATE ON THE BEEPING FIX?

4 days ago I ran the download zip file that brycsy mentioned on page 8:

http://www.sjphone.org/brands/YMax/2009 ... 9-6-19.zip

and afterward I've had no more beeping noises whatsoever. Even on 30 minute conversations, not one beeping noise at all.

Keypad beeping noises during calls

I've been getting these keypad beeps in the background for both the caller and the receiver of the call in alternate patterns for the last 6 months or better, but they are not consistent in their behavior. Sometimes I can go for two or three calls before they start going off randomly in the ...

I use vtech cordless phones with several extension phones that have battery backup in the base unit that keeps the phone active even if you have a brief power outage. Combine that with a UPS for the computer system and router and modems and you'll have a fairly reliable system.

Familiarize yourself ...

If you don't feel competent rnough to do port forwarding on your own, this site has a software for 29.95 that'll do it for you. You don't have to use their software, they provide all of the information that you'll need to port forward your MJ program right there at their site, if you take the time ...

Perhaps if some of you were to familiarize yourself with a process called port forwarding where you can set up your router to give MJ priority over other services, then you'll see that the sound quality will probably improve by 50% or better.

Re: magicBlock and XPe

didn't MJ one time say you just needed .NET 2.0 ... ?

What I quoted above was referring to magic block not magic jack .

Your correct on that .NET 2.0 issue. After I installed a 1GB Transend DOM card, I installed the modified Stroths T5700 v1.2 XPe OS which had the NET 2.0 packaged in it instead ...

magicBlock and XPe

For some reason this magicBlock won't load and initiate its .exe file on my HP 5710 running XPe.

When I tried to run this 1.2 version of the software, it just sets an error message stating that magicBlock.exe has failed to initiate properly and sets a code of (0xc0000135). Re-installed it several ...

Actually, I think it was a poor design of magicJack not to have an eprom circuit to accommodate downloading the software onto the module, instead of the host computer that it is running on.

Can you imagine someone like Vonage telling their customers that they'd have to accommodate a portion of ...

Don't Want To Run PC 24/7. Get HP t5710 Or t5720 Thin Client

If you are looking at using a HP t5710 or t5720 Thin Client, make sure it is one that has a minimum of 512MB flash drive memory and at least 512MB of RAM, because the 256/256 models just barely make it and not too well at that. The only room you have on the flash disk drive of those units is about ...

magicJack installs software on host machine

Contrary to what some people believe, magicJack does install software onto the host machine that it is plugged into.

Just navigate to your primary partition C:\Document and Settings\John Doe.WHATEVER\ Applications Data\mjusbp file folder and you'll most likely see what magiJack uses in conjunction ...

Drag to Disc Feature

I use a software program called Startup Control Panel by Mike Lin and removed the check-mark from the Roxio Drag to Disc startup feature and I noticed a substantial improvement in the operation and sound quality of magicJack.

I think the virtual disc that magicJack creates causes conflicts with ...
