I have been using a MJ for about 3 weeks now - both in the US and in Germany at multiple locations on different hardware.

There have been minor instances when stuff wasn't working as it should, but nothing that would be considered defective but rather attributed to software/OS/etc.

MagicJack got picked up by RadioShack retailers so I think they will be around for a while if they are backed up by a major retailer. I heard that it is also in retail at Walmart stores. I cant confirm Walmart, but if they are, the company would be golden with business demand.

Just on a recent ...

I just plugged mine into the usb port upside-down, problem solved. Funny thing, however is that people's voices sound just like a record being played backwards.

I did the same thing but then ran the MJ input/output channels through a reverse mixer to correct the funny voices.

Now MJ pays ME $19 ...
