not all usb ports are created equal by their manufacturers. In order to save money, they use cheap usb ports that do not provide enough power to run magicjack. Most of the "BROKEN DEVICE" errors are due to cheap USB ports and not to mj's fault. A powered USB hub or a USB card might solve your ...

I have used several USB Hub and in all of the them the magicJack, usb memory or any other device does not go all the way in. It does not appear that this causes the device to malfunction. You are fine. As long as it works, don't look too much into it.

mine is a little over one year old, but it has stayed on my TC since the start. My sister has lost hers twice and twice she had to purchase a new one to keep her number. I wish MJ would sell you a replacement for less than $40 if you lose/damage yours.

what is his badwith? Both applications are competing for the same resources and if his bandwith is not high enough, one or both of them will suffer. Just like trying to use MJ while downloading music.

Most TC are sold on eBay for under $100. Some sellers only sell TC and I would check them out first. I have bought 4 TC on eBay and all are working perfectly. Choose one with at least 512 MB of memory.

Another option is to use Paypal Plugins when paying directly on MJ's webpage. It generates a random single-use card number that MJ will accept. It deducts the balance from your paypal account. Once accepted, that card number becomes invalid. Pretty neat stuff.
