I think OP was talking about using strictly iPhone, and not necessarily his
home LAN.
I think perhaps I am missing something.
I dont have an iPhone to test, but I can use the apple SDK and compile
a copy of siphon with the added code if anybody wants.

The only way to use iphone right now is via local proxy.

If you install sjlabs and copy the giga.skn to the mj directory and
rename to (for example: big.skin) you can use all the advanced
features, with a much nicer looking interface.
I figure everybody already knows this, but for the neophytes,
you might want to check it out.

Not until one of us has a Eureka! moment, and sees some glaring hole to leap through.
Right now this is still early.
I wouldn't expect to see an Asterix patch for at least a month.
(Maybe that is being VERY optimistic tho)
I am sure almost all of us tinkering with this stuff work a full time job ...

Hello
That phone is Symbian, on my WinMo phone I used to be able to use
MJ via SIP and Fring, but since they shutdown ATAs they also
shutdown: softphones, iPhone running Siphon, and any other device
that isnt the dongle.
Check the certificates are a joke thread about the technical details.

How to fix crackling audio, constant dinging sound
Note: Not to be confusing with the "beeping" problem.
Or No Audio problem.
This bug happens when you install MagicJack on a PC with NO SOUND DEVICE, and then install sound drivers after the fact.
The only solution is a format.
You woudn't think that would work, but I have verified it.

I have used voice modems as voice mail and voice recognition IVR systems before, HAM operators use their sound card as a data modem over radio,
so its not so crazy, and would be sort of convenient, but alot of modems
only end up going into half duplex mode.

I am working on a fix.
Its tricky.
I have noticed some things.
I guarantee you it is a latency issue, too high of a ping rate between
you and the proxy.
The data gets garbled and what it "thinks" are dtmf tones is actually
bad voice data.
One solution? Filtering.

All they did is is go TLS, even if they used SRP doesnt matter

If they were smart they would make an iPhone app, put it in the App Store

Since they wouldn't have the cost of a hardware device to hold profit back.
