Wow,

Not a single reply post since your original in Feb. That means everyone has had big issues with MagicJack.

Also I had Vonage too at $38/month, but Ooma is better as it is free after the initial payout of $200 at Costco (hub only); the quality is just as good as Vonage. So after 5 months Ooma ...

Voipdude,

Nope, not true. I asked the store manager before I purchased. I was told 90days return on Ooma.

Cheers!

How is tuning accomplished? Also does tuning remove the beeping sound? I'd like to give it a try.

As of a week ago I bagan using Ooma, and the wife stopped complaining. I still like the MJ concept, and wouldn't mind tinkering a bit, but it were up to my wife (and probably most people), the tuning ...

Bunk!

Always buy from a store if you can. If after 30 days you are not satisfied, you can take it back and get your refund. (Yes you will be unsatisfied).

Why would Magic Jack want you to buy from on-line? Firstly because if MJ sells the device directly to you, they will make more $ that if they ...

I was thrilled when I first bought Magic Jack, but WOW, its been 3 months now, and the quality keeps getting worse and worse. First the beeping started, and then the call quality began to degrade. Now even if I reboot my computer and update the software for the dongle, it only takes 2 or 3 mins into ...

You should go one step farther, and stick it to Magic Jack.

I was listening to Rush Limbaugh today, when an missionary living in Honduras, Central America, called in today to comment on Obama's alignment with dictatior, Mel Zelaya. Anyway, while he was talking, the same beeping noise that the Magic Jack phone makes, kept occurring. So I'm betting the caller ...

Previous members have posted about the frequency of the voice causing the touch tones to occur. From what I've read, it occurs with both Male and Female voices, but the Female voice experience it more.

That made me think that there might be a phone filter out there that could either (a) filter out ...

My guess is that they KNOW about the problem, and they are working to fix it as quickly as possible, but "prove out / testing" takes a while (I'm sure all programmers out there would agree). I don't think MJ wants make a quick fix and end up making more problems.

I also don't expect them to come ...

Other people who have experienced this problem where using a router, and the router settings had to be changed to fix the issue.

Are you using a router? If so, search using the terms router and no audio.

I think it is a GREAT idea.

How many people out there have kids? Why do parents make copies of DVDs, if they have already purchased the original; why not just use the original DVD? Because the originals eventually get scratched and can't be played or skip excessively. So you have to buy a ...

I have a Uniden EXA12248 2.4GHz phone, and I HAD the same problem, that is up until 5 mins ago. 8)

It was an easy mod to splice in the resistor into the phone line.

But it took me 2 attemps to do it, as I accidentally bought the wrong size resistor, 100 ohms, the 1st time. :(

However, I then ...

I'm curious as to what Routers DO work, and which Routers DON"T Work. Can different members of this forum say what they have and if they experienced this problem or not.

I'm considering using a new D-Link router that is wired (not wireless).

I wonder if it is possible to change the tone. Since It appears that the beeping may due to a function. Perhaps a less irritating tone, or a softer tone, or maybe even MUTE.

The only issue that I foresee could happen is when "muted" is that when you dial a phone number you won't hear any push ...
