Re: Magic Jack Beeping and No Voicemail

 What the heck! Me, too. Beeping. Found less beeping occurs when I speak very quietly and slowly. Still occurs, though. Now, voicemail has disappeared. Need help on both. Where do we get tech support? Do we pay for it?

I noticed when I talk that on the magic jack on screen key pad numbers ...

The Beeping is back...

I had the real bad beeping a few months ago, then it FINALLY went away with an upgrade. Then I started having poor reception on the other end (I could here fine....people on the other end complained of the call breaking up).

So that clears up and now the beeping is back and yes I have the latest ...

People on the other end cannot hear me....

 Finally get rid of the BEEPING problem and now this. Seems I get maybe 5-10 minutes of clear reception before the people on the other end start asking if I am driving and in a bad area. I have to scream I will call them back.

SOMETIMES calling them back works, other times not. The problem is ...

Any more BS by MJ and I'm done. I got the dreaded message earlier.....and was told to start my own conference line and invite guests. Had to pound into the "tech" dude's head that I did not run this call....that I was a guest not a host. I think the tech support is getting tired of people ...

New update?

When I fired up my laptop this morning and MJ got the "Lucky You...upgrade...".

I have been one of the lucky ones after the 6/19 fix...the beeps went away. Now I'm a bit afraid when they do more....but my guess is they are really trying to solve this for all.

Cheers!

Winzip is free, but isn't that a self extracting zip file. Did you try double clicking on it?

Thankfully...THANKFULLY same for me. It seems like it has helped most people and if not fully eliminated the beeps reduced them.

Will keep an eye and report if anything changes. Good luck to those still beeping!! :?

Re: USB Extension Cord

I was just chatting with their "techs" and he said that by removing the USB extension cable, the random DTMF tones would stop.

I can almost understand interference causing the MJ interface to detect a false signal, but not a false DTMF dial signal!

Does anybody who is NOT using the USB extension ...

Ack....glad I am not alone! I too have tried many work arounds to no avail. The last "tech" gal had me change my firewall settings...to add magic jack as an exception. I thought that had fixed the problem but NOPE. Sound quality on my end is good and the beeps don't usually start for 3-5 minutes in ...
