According to this link (page 8 ), HP says it can do 2GB RAM.

Has anyone tried it? What brand were you successful with?

Of course, I am looking for the cheapest solution that actually works ... to max it out.

I wonder if t5525 Ll 800MHz 256/128 can be used with Magic Jack? Anybody know?

I've heard others mention their MJ works with 800 MHz The 128 GB of RAM might be a limitation for loading Windows XPe though. Can you upgrade that a minimum of 256 or better 512?

IIRC T5520 and T5525 can't uprade RAM ...

Thanks, I am familiar with that site ... that is a T5700 though (T5700, T5710, T5720, T5730 all have internal differences).

They can be VERY finicky with RAM ... especially T5710's when going to 1GB RAM (yeah, not in the HP spec, but works).

Sipgate looks interesting, but it looks like a Google Voice number (for incoming). I mean, the actual phone which is connected via ATA will not ring, only the phones that are linked to your account will ring. Can someone confirm this?

Oddly, most of the VOIP venders listed by the OP don't support his "mission critical" needs, so I don't understand why he singles out MJ. BTW, 911 support is a non-issue since all cellphones are required to support 911 calls even if there is no provider attached.

You will probably have to try the "Tech Chat" on their web site; but a warning, it can be supremely frustrating if you start asking technical questions.

For outgoing, I subscribed to www.localphone.com (0.7c US). I don't think anybody can beat that.

I also found that by actually removing the power input connector rather that just using the on/off button I was able to get them to boot when they otherwise would not.

I have one unit that has this issue -- a T5710 PT705AT#ABA with the latest firmware -- the only one out of a bunch of T5710's ...

Mine is the T7510 PY705AA#ABA, but mine rejected the transcend 1gb mem...hmm odd, seems to be no rhyme or reason with these things. Does your PY705AA#AA show 00 for ram in the bios? Mine does but in win it shows 1gb just fine.

Yes, mine showed :00 in the BIOS but worked fine with the Transcend ...

As far as the RAM/MEMORY is concerned mine would NOT work with transcend ram/memory but it did work with mushkin ram/memory...not to be confused with a 1gb transcend flash drive.

I recently discovered, much to my continuing annoyance so far, regarding every little thing going screwy with my project involving the Thin Client...

that the 1.2 GHz version of the T5710 has two different CPU chips available.

One seems to work with a 1GB RAM Module - uses the TM8800 processor ...
